Scotland’s Green Energy Takes Another
Step Forward
There’s a quiet revolution happening in a rural corner of Ayrshire, one which will help to heat Scotland’s homes and meet our environmental goals. And as we enter the New Year it’s just taken a massive step closer to producing enough electricity to power 4,000 homes.
Nestling in a rural setting near Beith, the Barkip Biogas plant is rapidly nearing completion, and despite the recent poor weather, the last few weeks have seen the installation of the very heart of power production at the plant; the massive primary and secondary digesters.

However, this is ultimately a commercial decision by the airline. . Read More

It's Time to Put Scotland's Economy First
As MSPs in the Scottish Parliament’s Local Government and Communities Committee prepare to put the controversial retail business rates levy to the vote tomorrow (26 January), Liz Cameron, Chief Executive of Scottish Chambers of Commerce, said:
“The Scottish Parliament now has a crucial opportunity to put the Scottish Government’s proposed retail rates levy to the test. During the past few weeks, MSPs have heard the evidence of the impact this tax is likely to have. It will not just hit out of town supermarkets, as the Government have claimed. Instead it will impact on a wide variety of shops across numerous city and town centres in Scotland, damaging our attractiveness as a retail venue and threatening future investment prospects.
