RAMH Investors in People Accreditation
RAMH have been re-assessed for the prestigious IIP (Investors in People) standard and have been successful. This is their 12th year of re-accreditation. However, the process has recently changed and successful organisations are now ''graded'' as either: Pass, Bronze, Silver or Gold. I am delighted to say that RAMH have been awarded a ''Silver'' status. To put this in context, of the 35,000 organisations in the UK to have the IIP Standard, only 1% achieve Silver status! Henderson Properties Latest News
Since HPL built Greenhill Business Park in 1996 occupation levels have remained consistently high and the popularity of the location means that business units rarely become available. Last month when one prominent business on the Site ceased trading their unit was leased to a fresh tenant within two weeks.
Another new building is on the starting blocks at Greenhill Road. Buddie Good Food, well known to local businesses and football supporters alike, has been so successful with its snack van that a new building has been commissioned at the entrance to the Business Park. Stuart Henderson said ‘The new building will be eye catching and it will help the tenant to expand his business once it is completed later this year. Threat to Airbases is Disproportionate and Unfair, Warns Chambers
Scotland’s economy risks paying a heavy price for the UK Government’s Strategic Defence and Security Review if we are hit with the closure of two of our RAF bases. Liz Cameron, Chief Executive of Scottish Chambers of Commerce, said:
“Before the publication of the Strategic Defence and Security Review last October, Scottish Chambers of Commerce called upon the Secretary of State for Defence to have due regard to the economic impact of defence cuts on the Scottish economy. Whilst we welcome the continuation of the contracts for the construction of the two new aircraft carriers, we still have serious concerns about the impact that the closure of two Scottish RAF airbases could have on our national and regional economies. Scotland Needs a Comprehensive Energy Plan for the 21st Century
Scottish Chambers of Commerce have called on the political parties to commit to a coherent energy plan for Scotland, mapping out our energy supply and consumption for the next 25 years. Liz Cameron, Chief Executive of Scottish Chambers of Commerce, said:
“During the course of the current Scottish Parliamentary election campaign, many of Scotland’s politicians have become engaged in a bidding war in terms of how much renewable energy Scotland should produce. However this is only one part of the energy mix that Scotland will require going forward and as a nation we need a clear strategy charting our demand for electricity, heat and transportation over the next 25 years and how these needs can be met. Scotland's Politicians Must Prove They Can Be Trusted On Taxes
As the politicians prepare for the final few days of the Scottish Parliamentary election campaign, Scottish Chambers of Commerce have challenged the parties to work together to deliver a positive change to Scotland’s business rates system over the next five years. Calling for a full review of non-domestic rates in Scotland, Liz Cameron, Chief Executive of Scottish Chambers of Commerce, said:
“Scotland’s system of business rates was shown to be unfit for purpose following last year’s rates revaluation. The abolition of Transitional Relief meant that many businesses were hit by substantial increases in their rates bills – some by over 200% – whilst the transparency and efficiency of the appeals process has been called into question.
